The mother of one of my unofficial english student has a factory where they produce handmade home shoes.
So today we went there to visit.
This is made with sheep wool.
So first they prepare the wool (they have received it washed from UB)
Then they make the shape of the shoe, putting some water and some soap
Here we see the ladies preparing the shoes. They have the size and they do it accordingly.
This is a very difficult manual work.
The wool has different colors, they put some colors at the factory depending on what people want.
After that you have the shoes like that.
they are washed so that they stay together, they are also dried and after that this is not moving anymore
To dry them they put some "fake" foot inside, in order to keep the correct shape
After that they add some ornaments, depending on the customer taste.
All that is done manually. The idea was started by Norwegian people, so that is why everything is sell in Norway for the moment.
This is a fair trade factory, so the employees become very good salary, the wool producer too, and they also look for the quality.
